On October 16, 2018 students of 438 and 439 groups of a foreign department and a teacher of the department of perinatalogy named after A. A. Kozybagarov G. Yegezhanova held an educational hour at the Zhamilya Institution. The educational hour was dedicated to the celebration of Diwali. And also the teacher of the department Alimbaeva A.A. and 434-group foreign department took part at this event.
Diwali is celebrated as the “Festival of Lights” and symbolizes the victory of good over evil, and as a sign of this victory, candles and lanterns are lit everywhere. The main theme of the festival decorations is luminous lanterns, lights, fireworks and lighted candles that adorn the statues of animals and gods. So as today's decoration of the hall, decorated by a group of 438 and 439, served candles and rose petals.
Diwali usually falls on the end of October – the beginning of November, in this it partly resembles the ancient pagan holidays of the autumn harvest, and in modern India, Diwali is considered to be the holiday of the new year. Students treated guests with fruit and delicious traditional dishes. All students made a wish, because in Diwali it is good to make wishes, to acquire new things, as a sign of the New year.
During the event, students of Kazakh nationality received information about the traditional Diwali festival, and asked questions. And also they exchanged information and compared similar holidays.
