November 15, the No Smoking Day, students of the 244 GM group of the English department and curator Olzhayeva R.R. discussed at the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines, named after Professor Tapbergenov S.О. – the harmfulness of this harmful habit for the organism and for the people around it. According to the World Health Organization: 90% of deaths from lung cancer in the world, 75% from chronic bronchitis and 25% from coronary heart disease are caused by smoking; every ten seconds, one heavy smoker dies on the planet (by 2020 this level may increase up to one person in three seconds). The purpose of the International No Smoking Day, is to help reduce the prevalence of tobacco dependence, to involve all sectors of the population and doctors of all specialties in the fight against smoking, to prevent tobacco smoking and to inform the public about the harmful effects of tobacco on health. We urge everyone to think about their health! In a healthy body healthy mind. (Decum Junius Juvenal) Become better – and you will feel better. (Georg Enrich)
