On November 16, 2018, the activists of the “School of Public Health” conducted a health education campaign dedicated to the International Day for Premature Babies. International Day for Premature Babies is an opportunity to state the existing problem and its scope in public. The purpose of the event was to increase the awareness of students of the hostel №3 about the problem of miscarriage, the problems of premature babies and their families.
The appearance of a child in the family is undoubtedly a great happiness. However, not all children are born on time. According to statistics, every 10th child is born prematurely. In total, approximately 15 million babies are born prematurely on our planet, and 10% of this number do not survive.
In the course of the work, students were presented with video materials, presentations, and brochures covering the main risk factors for the onset of preterm labor.
The students were also acquainted with the activity of the “28 loops” volunteer movement. In Kazakhstan, it has existed since 2012, the movement unites everyone who wants to help premature babies, tying for them the warm clothes they need during their nursing period.
