Since 1999, on the initiative of the UNESCO General Conference, the International Mother Language Day is celebrated around the world on February 21 as a reminder of the need to promote the development of multi-ethnic language culture, its diversity and multilingualism.
February 21 Olzhayeva R.R. with students of 252 group of the foreign department and on February 22, students of 244.245, 253 groups of GM of the English department with the curator Olzhayeva R.R., аt the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named professor Tapbergenov S.O., they discussed the history and significance of this world day of their Mother language and their attitude to their Mother language. The purpose of the event is one of the directions for the implementation of the program “Ruhani zangyru”. It is interesting to note that students studying with us from different states of India have different Mother languages and at the same time know the language of international communication English, as well as local students. In the world there are a myriad of languages. According to preliminary estimates, their number is about 6 thousand. Each language is a tool for reflecting national culture, a tool for developing and preserving spiritual and material heritage. The language of each nation is original and has distinctive expressions reflecting the mentality and traditions of the nation. Language forms the consciousness of a person, knowledge of the language helps to broaden one’s horizons, to penetrate deeper into the culture of another country. The recognition and respect of all languages allows us to preserve world peace.
Each of us should think about the attitude to our mother tongue, whether we are not cluttering it with unnecessary words, whether we competently say how many languages there are on earth and everyone should appreciate! We are different, but we are together!
