The World Health Organization estimates that 1.1 billion people with high blood pressure live on the planet. Hypertension is currently one of the most common pathologies of the cardiovascular system. The insidiousness of this disease lies in the fact that often it is asymptomatic.
Only in Kazakhstan, according to doctors, up to 40% of the adult population suffer from hypertension of varying severity. According to statistics, 89% of cases of hypertension result in a heart attack or stroke. The main thing is to pay attention to the first signs of the disease in time: headaches, numbness of the fingers, decreased performance, tinnitus, edema, heart pain are disturbing.
On September 21, 2019, activists of the local committee of KazMSA SMU held the event “Pulse of Life”, under the leadership of the SCOPH Standing Committee on Public Health. The events were at the city level and were held in two shopping malls like “Kazyna” and “Avenue”.
The purpose of this event was to inform people about existing cardiovascular diseases, and the norms of blood pressure indicators.
Participants measured blood pressure to all interested visitors to trading houses. And they also distributed informational brochures about hypertension and hypotension, and their prevention methods. Guests of shopping malls were pleased to measure their blood pressure for free and listened with interest to information about blood pressure.
