On October 18, 2020, South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov hosted the XVIII Republican debate tournament dedicated to the transitional cup of the «Nur Otan» Party in Shymkent.

In the debate tournament, 20 of the strongest teams in the Kazakh League took part in the competition. According to the results of the tournament, members of the Salauat debate club in the Kazakh League, 5-year student of the Faculty of general medicine Nurbakyt Isakhan and 4-year student Eldar Azamat showed the best game and became finalists.
