On October 27, the Debate club “Salauat” held an exhibition game between 1-2 courses on the topic of the Swedish quarantine model.
The main idea of the game was to get students’ opinions about the Swedish quarantine model. The main principle of the Swedish strategy to combat the pandemic sounded simple and attractive to many: do not lock anyone up, do not ban anything. And it is the Swedish model of fighting the pandemic that has attracted the most attention. But did it work?
In a country of 10 million, almost six thousand people died from COVID-19 — a lot for a small Scandinavia.
Also during the game, students tried to apply the Swedish model comparatively to fight the virus in Kazakhstan. Will it be effective? Will the people of our country understand and accept it? Or does the effectiveness of any model to some extent depend on the country and mindset
A large number of students did not respond with special greetings to this action of Sweden, but there were students who supported this idea.
Still, is the Swedish quarantine-free model successful?
The conclusion of our conversation was that this question remains open to this day, because at the moment there is no perfect result that the Swedes dreamed of.
