HARMONEE project: to improve knowledge and practice in public health

On January 11, an online meeting of the project group of the HARMONEE project was held, where an initial vision of the modules planned for creation and dissemination from the team of NC JSC “Semey Medical University” was presented:

The HARMONEE project proposes the development and implementation of disciplinary and interdisciplinary modules in the Master’s degree program in Public Health in four Central Asian countries: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. A changing world and global challenges show the immense role of scientific development in public health, OneHealth and environmental health, including occupational health and toxicology.

During the meeting of the working group of the HARMONEE project, Professor of the Department of Public Health, Candidate of Medical Sciences, S. Tokanova presented the vision of the Radiotoxicology module. Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health, Candidate of Medical Sciences, S. Tokesheva presented her vision of the Rural Health module, and a PhD student of the 1st year of study in the specialty “Public health”, teacher of the Department of Public Health N.  Iskakova presented her vision of the One Health module. Master, teacher of the Department of Public Health, A. Atabayeva presented the vision of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention module.

Academic coordinator of the project Z. Khismetova gave recommendations on the content and direction of these modules.

As a reminder, the objectives of the HARMONEE project are to improve knowledge and practice in the field of public health (including environmental health, occupational health and One Health) in accordance with the current needs and gaps in the countries of Central Asia.
