On 23.09.2021, a meeting of the entire working group of the HARMONEE project on the Summer School was held and the main stages of implementation were discussed.
At the end of the project, several results will be achieved, all of them aimed at improving the level of education of masters in public health, the accumulation of local experience and the creation of a networking network. The program is divided into different stages.
- Stage of approval. In order to create master’s degree modules in the field of public health that meet EU standards and take into account local peculiarities, a SWOT analysis will first be carried out.
- Training. 28 of the participants will start with a language course specifically designed for teaching in English. The results of the analyses of the two previous projects will determine the academic content of the summer school curriculum.
III. Development of Master’s degree modules in the field of public health. Teachers will develop Master’s degree modules in 7 teams consisting of 4 participants from each CA country. All Master’s degree modules covering several disciplines (for example, environmental epidemiology, toxicology, (zoonotic) infectious diseases, impact sciences, occupational health, risk assessment) should be implemented in each CA country. The modular structure ensures consistency and flexibility of education, assuming a common basic structure and the joint use of educational modules in various fields of specialization at each university.
- Implementation of new Master’s degree modules. Partners are starting to announce modules open to 10 students each, selected using objective and transparent criteria. In the 2nd half of the project, international seminars with invited lecturers from EU and Central Asian universities will be organized at each university.
- Dissemination activities. Trained trainers will share their knowledge and skills using the Moodle platform. The web network will be available for professional communication during and after the completion of the project.
During the implementation of the project, public events will be organized, within the framework of which cooperation with local and national authorities (NGOs, ministries of education/health/environment, companies) will be continued.
