On November 09, 2021 at the department of general medical practice of the Ust-Kamenogorsk branch of the NJSC “SMU” was held the Olympiad “Young clinician-2021” . Оrganized and conducted the Olympiad interns of the 725th group: Mubarakova Aidana, Karmenova Araу, Zhunus Dana, Slyambekova Elmira, Nursoltanov Kuanysh, Dikenov Ermukhamed under the guidance of the assistant of the department, Ph.D. Shontasova Tursynkhan Serikbosynovna. The chairman of the jury was the head of the department of general medical practiice, Ph.D. Musabekova Zhanna Asemkanovna. The jury consisted of experienced teachers of the department, such as Aldiyarhanova M.S., Akhmetova S.S., deputy of dean, M.M. Aimukhambetov E.N. The sponsorship of the Olympiad was provided by the pharmaceutical company “SANTO Company”.

The 7th course interns of the General Medical Practice faculty took part in the Olympiad, which was held in 3 stages. There were 9 participants in total. The first stage was held in the form of a blitz-survey of 20 questions. According to the results, 6 participants passed to the 2nd stage. The second stage was named after the famous TV program “Своя игра”, as a result of which four participants continued the battle. At the third stage, the participants had to select and demonstrate practical skills such as “Emergency care for ACS”, “Emergency care for anaphylactic shock”, “Urgent care for trauma” and “BLS”. Each of the tours showed how well the interns mastered all the knowledge and skills they acquired and can apply them. In addition to the participants of the Olympiad, the interns who were present as spectators did not go unnoticed, for them the organizers of the Olympiad held a quiz, where students could receive sweet prizes and notebooks for the correct answer. All participants of the Olympiad coped with the tasks with dignity. At the end of all competitions, the jury, having calculated the points, announced the results of the Olympiad. Then the ceremony of awarding the winners took place. The first place was taken by the intern of the 727group Koichubaeva Sabina, the second place was taken by the 728th group intern Konaeva Nazimgul and the third place by the intern of the 730 group Kasymkhanova Akmaral. All winners and participants were awarded valuable prizes.

The closing remarks were made by the chairman of the jury, Musabekova Zh.A. and Akhmetova S.S., thanking all the participants and organizers of the Olympiad. The great importance of holding Olympiads in the educational process is noted, both in terms of strengthening students’ conscious conviction that all the knowledge gained during their studies can be used in practical activities, as well as the formation of their corporate spirit, the desire to win. Teachers were very pleased with the preparation of the participants and most importantly, the participants accepted the challenge and competed! Intellectual competitions influence the formation of tact among the participants, tolerance, active position of students, foster a sense of self-confidence, the ability to set goals and achieve them, the ability to realize oneself in interesting and feasible matters and lay the foundation of a personality that is able to successfully solve vital goals in the future.
