On October 12, 2022, students of the Abay region took part in the first (regional) stage of the presidential Olympiad in subjects of the natural and mathematical cycle, which took place on a single day throughout the republic. The Olympiad was attended only by graduates of the 11th grade of the current academic year of general educational organizations, who had not previously taken part in republican and international subject Olympiads.

Each participant at all stages completed tasks in four subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology in the language of his instruction. In order to ensure an objective assessment of the work of the participants, as well as the transparency of the conduct and observance of academic honesty, the course of the Olympiad was broadcast through the YouTube channel.
