On February 2nd 2023 the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology together with the Departments of Radiology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology and Dermatovenerology held a round table in dormitory No. 1 on the topic: “The harm of psychoactive substances and the consequences of their use.” Participants: 1st year students, curatorial groups 5108, 5216, 5214, 5322, 3207, residents of 1 and 2 years of study.

The welcoming speech to the students of Semey Medical University was delivered by Head of the Department, PhD Doctor Moldagaliev T. M., assistants of the Department Shaimardanov E. K., Almagambetova A. A., Ermekbayev A. U., Assistant of the Department of Radiology Kuanysheva A. G., Assistant of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Immunology and Dermatovenerology Turakhanova B. S.

In their speeches, they highlighted that the consumption of psychoactive substances (surfactants) around the world increases every year, this creates problems not only for people who use drugs, but for the whole society. The consequences of psychoactive substances: mood swings, aggression, suicidal intentions, impaired consciousness, irritability, insomnia, various psychosomatic disorders etc. This leads to mental and social degradation, the syndrome of dependence on psychoactive substances. Drug addiction is one of the types of destructive behavior when a person seeks to escape from reality by changing his mental state with the help of surfactants. Taking psychoactive substances (any herbal, synthetic substances, neurotropic drugs, hallucinogens – marijuana, hashish; alcohol, alcohol–containing beverages) is the way to nowhere! Surfactants are slow killers. In severe cases, coma develops and death occurs.

The most important thing is a healthy lifestyle — an active creation of health, a system of relationships to yourself, to another person, to life in general, as well as life goals and values, etc.

Students actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and got a positive attitude.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”135110″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image” lazy_loading=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
