Open laboratory-practical lesson in the discipline “Analytical Chemistry”

On February 7, 2023, the plan for conducting open classes for the 2022-2023 academic year was approved by the “Council for Academic Quality of Semey Medical University, NCJSC”, and a laboratory and practical lesson in Analytical Chemistry was held. The lesson was led by Master of Natural Sciences in Chemistry, Lauenova S. A. The topic of the lesson was “Acid-base Titration” and was held for 2nd year students of group 201 (multilingual) in the specialty of Pharmacy.

The open lesson utilized interactive teaching methods and presentations, along with methodological instructions for laboratory work. During the lesson, students applied their knowledge of the periodic table of D. I. Mendeleev, the table of salt solubility, and the table of titration curves to solve situational problems. Prior to performing the laboratory work, consulting assistance was provided to help students calculate the mass of the analyzed solution by the concentration of the titrant. The final part of the lesson concluded with individual and group testing.

Several noteworthy attendees were present during the open lesson. Baibusinova A. Zh. – PhD and teacher of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and Acting Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tapbergenov S. O. Olzhayeva R. R. were in attendance. Additionally, head teacher of the department, and Ablenova A.T. were also present.

The successful completion of the open lesson is a testament to the dedication and commitment of both the students and faculty of NJSC Semey Medical University. This event exemplifies the university’s commitment to providing hands-on, interactive learning experiences for its students.
