Seminar-training on the topic of the prevention of especially dangerous infections

On February 8-9, 2023, a training seminar on the prevention of especially dangerous infections was held at the Central Station of the MSCE “Emergency Medical Aid Station of the City of Semey”. The participants of the seminar were medical workers, including doctors and paramedics, from the Central Ambulance Station of the city of Semey.

Additionally, interns from 621 groups of GPs currently studying at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Immunology and Dermatovenereology also took part in the seminar.

The seminar covered important topics such as the epidemiological situation in the world and in the Republic of Kazakhstan, focusing on infectious diseases such as brucellosis, anthrax, plague, cholera, and hemorrhagic fevers. The lecturers discussed the clinic and early manifestations of these diseases and emphasized the importance of a detailed clarification of the epidemiological history in case of suspicion of these diseases.

The second part of the seminar included practical training sessions. The medical personnel learned the “Algorithm of actions of the service ’03’ when a patient with ARI is detected”, “The procedure for putting on and taking off an anti-plague suit”, and “Rules for taking material from a patient with ARI for laboratory tests”. These sessions clearly demonstrated the steps of the medical staff in identifying a patient with ASI.

Participants engaged in lively discussions on topics such as early diagnosis of particularly dangerous infectious diseases and the tactics of a doctor or medical worker of the ambulance service in case of suspected infections.
