On January 31st, 2023, the student scientific society at the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after D. M. Tussupova held a meeting to discuss “Diabetes Mellitus in Children: The Role of Hereditary Factor in the Development.” The meeting was attended by resident pediatricians of 1st and 2nd year of study.
Resident pediatrician, Tynyshtyk Sadykova, spoke to the audience about modern diagnostic and treatment methods for diabetes mellitus in children based on evidence-based medicine. One of the most intriguing parts of Sadykova’s speech was her discussion of the hereditary factor in the development of diabetes mellitus. The results of a retrospective study of patient medical histories conducted by the pediatric department were also presented.
Another resident pediatrician, Asel Yerolinova, shared a real-life medical case of a child with diabetes mellitus. Yerolinova highlighted the practical aspects of diagnosing and treating children with diabetes.
The members of the student scientific society thanked the speakers for their informative presentations.
