The Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases at Semey Medical University (SMU) recently hosted a winter school for third-year foreign students studying General Medicine. The school was organized by the “Pathology of the Digestive System” committee.

The winter school covered a range of important topics in the field, including the examination of patients with gastrointestinal diseases, syndromes of lesions in the upper gastrointestinal tract, and chronic pancreatitis. Lectures were given on dysphagia syndrome, gastric dyspepsia, hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, portal hypertension, Crohn’s disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.

The program provided students with valuable opportunities to participate in seminars and masterclasses, engage in discussions, and get answers to their questions. By the end of the winter school, students expressed their gratitude for the useful and informative lectures they received just before the start of the second semester.

Overall, the winter school was a great success and provided students with a valuable learning experience in the field of digestive system pathology.
