World Encephalitis Day

World Encephalitis Day

World Encephalitis Day was established at the initiative of the Encephalitis Society in 2013 to remind about the deadly danger of this disease and prevent new possible cases. Everyone knows that encephalitis can be caused by the bite of an infected (encephalitic) tick. And this is an extremely dangerous disease that affects the central nervous system. A severe course of an acute infection can lead to disability, when paresis and paralysis persist for life. And in the most severe cases, death is possible. February is the last month of winter. And it seems that the awakening of ticks is still very far away, but right now is the time to take care of yourself and your loved ones.

25.02.2023, in order to prevent and inform students of the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor S.O. Tapbergenov. An event was held at the House of Students No. 4. A conversation was held about the ways of transmission, measures to prevent tick-borne encephalitis, and leaflets and brochures were provided. Based on the results of the conversation, feedback was given in the form of a quiz.

It is very important to conduct such events among students, as it prevents and informs about the consequences and importance of the prevention of infectious diseases. Take care of yourself and be healthy!
