On February 27, the Department of General Education organized a festive event with representatives from the Abai House of Friendship and international students from Semey Medical University. The main goal of the event was to promote Kazakhstani patriotism, tolerance, and pride in one’s homeland, as well as to introduce students to the history and cultural heritage of different nationalities residing in Kazakhstan, and expand their horizons.
The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Semey Medical University for academic and educational work, Zhanargul Kairgaliyevna Smailova, a member of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and Vice President of the International Society “Kazakh Tili”, public mediator Oral Sharipbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Social and Cultural Center Galina Kirichenko, Chairman of the Chechen-Ingush Cultural Center “Vaynah” Sultan Kartoyev, and Head of the City’s Kazakh Cultural Center “Aisha Bibi” Aiman Bokpasarova. The guests explained in detail about the special day and its significance.
March 1 is a day to honor the common history of the multinational population of Kazakhstan, a day of support for traditions of charity, cooperation, and mutual aid. It is a day of spiritual traditions such as kindness and joy, hospitality, exchange, and assistance. Taking advantage of this day, a number of representatives from other nationalities studying at Semey Medical University expressed their gratitude and warm congratulations to Kazakhs, staff and faculty of the educational institution, and their peers.
