Currently, extremism and terrorism are a real threat to national security. Extremism is an exceptionally great danger that can undermine any, even the most stable and prosperous society. One of the key areas in the fight against terrorist and extremist manifestations in the public environment is their prevention. It is especially important to carry out such preventive work among young people, since it is precisely this environment, due to a number of different factors, that is one of the most vulnerable in terms of exposure to the negative influence of various anti-social and criminal groups.

February 24, 2023 at the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tapbergenov S.O. under the guidance of the curator of the department Sydykova K.T. a curatorial hour was held on the topic: “Prevention of terrorism and extremism among young people.” The purpose of the conversation is to inform young people about measures to prevent religious extremism and terrorism, and to form patriotic education.

The social and material insecurity of young people, frequent maximalism in assessments and judgments, psychological immaturity, significant dependence on other people’s opinions are the main reasons for the easy spread of radical ideas among young people. Of course, it is much more profitable to carry out the prevention of extremism and terrorism among young people than to eliminate the consequences of such phenomena.
