Excursion to the State Historical, Cultural, Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili”

In 2023, on March 15, students of the 5430 curatorial group of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology of the SMU, NCJSC (curator Smail E.M.) visited the State Historical, Cultural and Literary Memorial Museum-Reserve of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili”.

The State Historical, Cultural and Literary Memorial Reserve-Museum of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” is one of the largest museums in Kazakhstan, which was founded in 1940. The museum’s funds number more than 21 thousand exhibits, the museum’s scientific library stores more than 16 thousand publications. The most valuable and important of them are presented in the museum’s expositions. There is also a madrasah on the territory of the museum, where Abai Kunanbayev used to study. The madrasah building was restored 25 years ago.

The students were provided with information about the history of the museum. Today it is a modern building equipped with everything necessary: touch screens are installed everywhere, and in the music hall visitors can even hear the sounds of the presented instruments. Touch screens are also installed in each of the halls. The visitors were presented with exhibits that Abai himself handed over to the local history museum of the city during his lifetime. The students saw and heard the words of Abai’s edification.

Students of the 5430 curatorial group received a lot of interesting and useful information for themselves by visiting the literary and memorial reserve-museum of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” in Semey. At the end of the tour, the students thanked the guide for informative and interesting information about the facts of the biography of great personalities – Abai, Shakarim, Mukhtar Auezov.
