In Kazakhstan, Nauryz was not celebrated popularly from 1926 to 1988. But since 2001, Nauryz has been declared a public holiday and is celebrated for three days – from March 21 to March 23. Nauryz is considered as a symbol of the spiritual unity of Kazakhstan people and plays an important role in strengthening friendship and harmony. On 20.03.2023, interns of the GP 623 group studying at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology celebrated the Nauryz holiday. The main treat at the festive dastarkhan was the dish “Nauryz kozhe”, which the future doctors prepared themselves. Nauryz kozhe is a ritual dish that includes seven components: water, meat, salt, fat, flour, cereals and milk. The number seven itself has a sacred character among the Kazakhs. The seven components of Nauryz kozhe meant the seven elements of life. A huge cauldron for Nauryz kozhe symbolized unity. Interns sang songs on the theme of Nauryz, prepared dance performances. The Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology and interns of the 623 group of GP congratulate all employees of SMU, NCJSC on the wonderful holiday of spring – Nauryz. We wish you inspiration, energy for new achievements, the boldest creative plans and their speedy implementation. May every day of the awakening spring bring love and prosperity to your home. Be healthy and happy!
