On March 16, 2023, Astana hosted a republican seminar “New Directions in the Academic Policy of Higher Educational Institutions” for rectors of higher educational institutions and vice-rectors for academic work. At the meeting, the draft “Concept for the development of higher education and science in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029″ was presented.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek in his report gave recommendations on the further development of Kazakhstani higher education, based on the trends and criticisms of modern society.
