On March 18, 2023, residents of rehabilitation specialists of the first and second year of study, as well as Interns of pediatricians of the 7th year, Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after D. M. Tusupova, took part in the celebration of the spring holiday “Nauryz” on the basis of the Toktamys Children’s Rehabilitation Center. As part of the celebration, in order to educate the younger generation, the head of the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation – Alimbayeva A.R., traditional Kazakh rituals such as “Tusau kesu” and “Kuda tusu” were organized. Residents and interns of the 7th year, together with the staff of the center, took an active part in conducting these rites, received a lot of useful information. The rite “tusau kesu” was performed for children undergoing rehabilitation in a children’s rehabilitation center after acquiring the skill of walking.

For the Kazakh people, Nauryz, as well as for many others, has since ancient times been considered the beginning of changes, they prepared for the holiday in a few weeks. In honor of the holiday, people prepared bright outfits in advance. The fun was accompanied by incessant songs. As on any big holiday, a rich dastarkhan was laid on Nauryz. Before and after the meal, prayers were read in the name of the ancestors. Nauryz soup (meat broth with dairy and vegetable components) was necessarily present at the festive table.
