[/vc_column_text][vc_zigzag css=”.vc_custom_1648457604435{margin-bottom: 35px !important;}”][vc_column_text]Scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the introduction of English language as medium of medical studies in Semey Medical University “Achievements and prospects of medical education of Kazakhstan in the international system of education” was started on 30.03.2023.
In 1998, for the first time in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, education of foreign students in English language was started in Semipalatinsk State Medical Academy (currently “Semey Medical University”). Students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sudan received the opportunity to study in English. Teachers of the University, who teach in English annually improve their professional qualification in USA, England, Japan, Korea, Israel, Singapore, Australia, Canada, etc. Over 40 teachers have second degree with qualification “English language teacher” (correspondence course of Kaynar University, Auezov State University, Auezov State University and Semey State Pedagogical Institute).
Since 2013, Semey Medical University has been a member of the Association of Indian Universities – the only university in the post-Soviet space. The university organizes various activities and projects aimed at successful adaptation of foreign students, strengthening friendly relations between people. In addition, the university maintains communication with the embassies of foreign countries in Kazakhstan and parents of the students. There is the student self-government at the foreign department, elected by the students. The feedback from employers on graduates working in Pakistan, India, Germany, USA, England and other near and far abroad countries shows the high level of qualification of trained specialists. During the years of existence of foreign department, over 1500 doctors have been professionally prepared. Currently, there are over 1000 students from India, Pakistan, China, Mongolia, Russia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Yemen and Afghanistan study at the University. It is planned to further expand the geography of our students from near and far abroad countries. The conference began with the congratulatory speech of the deputy Akim of Abay region S. Baibekov. Then, the Chairman of the Board – Rector Altay Dyussupov welcomed all the participants of the conference and in his report he focused on the significant moments in the history of the formation of the foreign department and awarded the persons who made an valuable contribution to the establishment of the foreign faculty of Semey Medical UniversityFollowing persons have congratulated the university: Director of Science and Human Resources of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daulet Aldyngurov, Rectors of the following medical universities: Chairman of the Board of NCJSC “Karaganda Medical University” A. Shoranov, founders of the foreign department: Prof. M. Urazalin, Dr. Prof., Honored Worker of the RK Z. Zhumadilov, Director of TECAS company Mir Muddasir Gowhar, former rectors: Dr. Prof. M. Teleuov, Dr. Prof. T. Rakhypbekov, Dr. Prof. Y. Zhunussov. Conference participants were also welcomed by the foreign guests: Chancellor of DPU Patil Prasad Dattajirao, Munjal Akshay – Senior Manager, Clinical Directorate, Max Healthcare Institute and graduates of the foreign department of different years.[/vc_column_text]
