On the eve of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of SMU, NCJSC, a round table “Pages of the history of the university” was held at the Department of Propaedeutics of Children’s Diseases. The event was dedicated to the very first teachers, teachers, scientists, who made up the initial team of the very first department of the pediatric faculty, formed in 1965 to teach childhood diseases, thus laid the foundation for the training of pediatricians at our university.
These very first teachers were the head of the department, doctor of medical sciences, professor Kogan M.B., candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Balkobekova D.M., candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Kolesnikova I.N. ., candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Galyautdinova N.S., assistant Vysotskaya A.A., assistant Isakova N.A. Lopatina Zh.M., Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Kurmanova B.R., Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Bekenova M.E.
At the time of the formation of the department, not all were candidates of medical sciences and associate professors, they were awarded scientific degrees and titles in the course of their activities. But all these respected people were highly qualified specialists, excellent clinicians with great medical, pedagogical, scientific and life experience. They devoted their whole lives to the most humane profession of a doctor and to the service of medicine.
Their work was highly appreciated not only at the local level, but also at the state level. Each of them had awards from the Ministry of Health, and some were even awarded government orders, at that time of a very high rank (Order of the Red Star, Order of V.I. Lenin).
The faculty, guests, former students of the Faculty of Pediatrics, who have now become veterans, all those who knew these first teachers well, were invited to the meeting at the Round Table. There were a lot of interesting, warm memories. Those who could not attend in person sent their video recordings of memories from Israel and the cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event introduced the younger generation of teaching staff and students to the history of our university through the characteristics of those people whose fate was connected with the very first and only department of childhood diseases at that time, namely the pediatric faculty. These teachers left a noticeable mark in our pediatrics, and despite more than half a century ago, the memory of them is kept in our hearts.[/vc_column_text]
