Meningococcal infection occupies a special place in infectious pathology in children, continuing to remain relevant, which is associated with the severity of the disease and the registration of fatal cases from this infection.

On May 26, 2023, an online seminar was held for medical workers of the inpatient and polyclinic level of the Abay region on the topic: “Meningococcal infection in children”. The seminar was conducted by the head of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases of the Semey Medical University, the chief freelance children’s infectious disease specialist of the Abay region, PhD, Efendiev I.M. In his speech, Imdat Musayevich outlined the etiological structure, epidemiology, classification and clinic of meningococcal infection in children. The speaker paid special attention to differential diagnosis, laboratory examination, therapy and prevention of the disease in children.

The participants of the seminar asked questions to which they received exhaustive answers. A total of 52 listeners took part.
