Acute intestinal infections currently occupy the second place in the structure of infectious morbidity of children after acute respiratory infections. The incidence of acute intestinal infections in children is 2.5-3 times higher than in adults, while half of the reported cases of them are in young children (up to 3 years old). Acute intestinal infections is caused by various viruses, bacteria and protozoa.
On 01.06.2023, a seminar on the topic “Acute intestinal infections. Diagnosis, treatment and prevention” was held at the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases on the basis of the “Regional Center of Phthisiopulmonology” of the Abai region. The speaker of this event was the head of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases Efendiyev Imdat Musa oglu. The lecturer highlighted the issues of epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis, features of the clinical course, principles of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of viral and bacterial intestinal infections in children. The participants of the seminar were doctors of the children’s infectious diseases department, employees of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases, and residents of 3 years of training in the specialty “Emergency Medicine” of the SMU NCJSC. At the end of the seminar, Imdat Musa oglu answered the questions of the audience, and received positive feedback from them.
