On May 31, 2023, a regional seminar was organized for medical workers of healthcare institutions of the Abay region on the topic “Acute intestinal infections”. The seminar was held in a mixed format (in person and on the Zoom platform).

At the beginning of the seminar, M.B. Dairabayeva, chief specialist of the UZ region of Abay, spoke. The state of the incidence of acute intestinal infections, salmonellosis for 2022, for the current period of 2023 in Semey was reported by D.B. Tlekina, head of the Department of Epidemiological Control and Supervision. Then the presentation “Etiology, epidemiology, clinic, diagnosis and treatment of acute intestinal infections” was made by assistant of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases Mansurova A.A. The seminar was continued by the leading specialist of the Department of Epidemiological Control and Supervision Karimova L.S. with the report “Sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the organization and conduct of sanitary and anti-epidemic, sanitary and preventive measures to prevent acute intestinal infections, salmonellosis, typhoid and paratyphoid”. The report “Laboratory diagnostics for acute intestinal infections, salmonellosis, typhoid fever, paratyphoid” was made by the doctor of the sanitary and epidemiological service Bakenova Z.Z.

The results of the seminar were summed up by the chief freelance children’s infectious disease specialist of the Abay region, head of the Department of Children’s Infectious Diseases of the Semey Medical University Efendiyev I.M., he has answed the questions of the audience. The organizers received feedback from the participants at the end of the seminar. The seminar was attended by 67 participants.
