The State Historical, Cultural and Literary Memorial Reserve-Museum of Abai “Zhidebai-Borili” was organized by the decree of the Council of People’s Commissars of the Kazakh SSR on April 1, 1940 on the eve of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the poet’s birth. This is the first literary and memorial museum in the history of Kazakhstan.
May 29, 2023 Lecturer of the Department of Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics named after Academician of the NAS RK T.K. Raisova Yessentaeva A.M. with students of the curatorial group 1101 OP “General medicine” visited the literary and memorial reserve-museum of Abai.
The Abai House-Museum in Zhidebai, the M.Auezov a Borili house-museum, the mausoleum complex “Abai-Shakarim”, the Kokbai Zhanatayev Museum in the Takyr locality, the Shakir Abenov house-museum in the village of Kundyzdy, located in the Abai district and the Asset Naimanbayev Museum, located in the village of Makanchi in the Urzhar district are departments of the reserve-museum. The city complex includes: the main museum, the mosque-madrasah of Akhmet Riza, an administrative building.
The museum’s fund has 13 thousand exhibits presented in thematic halls: “Abai and his epoch”, “Aul of the times of Abai”, “Sources of Abai’s creativity”, “Abai’s Creativity”, “Abai’s poetic environment”, “Abai studies”, “The Kazakh people highly honor the memory of the great poet”. Archival documents, Abai’s autographs, the handwritten heritage of Abai’s contemporary poets, photographs, rare books, periodicals of Abai’s time, works of fine art, ethnographic exhibits transferred by Abai to the Museum of Local lore in 1885, Abai’s personal belongings, works of the successors of Abai’s literary traditions, their translations into the languages of the peoples of the world are on display. A separate section consists of the works of M.O. Auezov, the founder of Abai studies.
By visiting the museum, everyone can get acquainted with interesting facts, see exhibits, cultural and historical monuments with their own eyes, and thus love for the work of the great poet is instilled. The students of the curatorial group were spiritually enriched and were very pleased with their visit to the museum.[/vc_column_text]
