The profession of “medical doctor” involves the performance of various types of activities to maintain people’s health. Public education plays an important role in the implementation of preventive and curative measures and is aimed at managing risk factors. Smoking is a significant factor in the development and progression of chronic non-communicable diseases, which are among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality. These include diseases of the circulatory system, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung and bronchial cancer. The development of posters, booklets, information sheets by medical workers is carried out to inform and warn people about a specific problem. The involvement of students in this type of social activity contributes to the comprehensive development of professional competencies of a graduate of a medical university.
