In 2023, on September 15, a seminar on malaria prevention was held at the Auezovsky half-station of the ambulance service. At this seminar, interns of 623 GP groups covered issues about the incidence of malaria, the source of infection, the mechanism of transmission, clinic, diagnosis of malaria and preventive measures. The future doctors emphasized that malaria prevention is vector control, which is the main approach to preventing malaria, reducing its transmission, and that chemoprophylaxis is the treatment for malaria recommended by WHO for people living in endemic areas. The speakers recalled that in case of any health problem that arises within a month after returning from a trip, it is necessary to immediately consult an infectious disease doctor at your place of residence to rule out tropical infectious diseases. If the temperature rises, call a doctor on the first day, drawing his attention to the fact that you are in the tropics (name the country, state, length of stay, data on chemoprophylaxis) and be aware that malaria disease can develop after a long incubation, within 2-3 years after returning from tropical countries.
