On October 20, 1997, WHO approved World Osteoporosis Prevention Day. The main goals of this day are to disseminate knowledge about osteoporosis as a serious illness that can cause disability and death due to the specificity of injuries and to draw attention to it as a problem for conscious choice of a healthy lifestyle.
The main directions of disease prevention include increasing public awareness. It is prevention that can slow down the process of weakening bone tissue in the human body. Conducting lectures and seminars for specialists, as well as ordinary citizens, information stands in medical institutions should promote a person’s correct attitude towards their health.
For the purpose of prevention and awareness of students of NJSC “MUS”, on September 30, 2023, the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tapbergenov S.O. The event was held in the Student House No. 4. A conversation was held about risk factors for osteoporosis and ways to reduce them. Leaflets and brochures were also provided. Based on the results of the conversation, feedback was given in the form of a quiz.
Such activities are very important to carry out among students, as it prevents and informs about the importance of preventing osteoporosis. Take care of yourself and be healthy!
