Visiting historical sights and sacred places of Kazakhstan

On October 8, 2023, the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology organized an excursion on the theme “Historical sights and sacred places of Kazakhstan” for 5th-year students of GM. Organizers: assistant of the department Almagambetova A.A., students of 5108 group GM.

The students visited the house – museum of Abai Kunanbayev, which was opened in 1945 on the territory of the Zhidebai tract. The museum has exhibits of great ethnographic interest, which introduces the era of the legendary poet and musician Abai Kunanbayev. The museum saw a pen and inkwell belonging to Abai, as well as a dombra on which he played his melodies, personal belongings, materials, books, photographs, photographic documents of the poet and household items. Household items and furniture not only recreate the environment in which the poet lived and worked, but also allow you to visualize the life of the Kazakhs in the second half of the XIX century. Each exhibit in the museum deserves a separate story and attention. Professional guides told the whole story of this place.

The students also visited the memorial complex “Abai – Shakarim”. Mausoleums have tower-like shapes, differ from each other in the plasticity of the facade and the completion of the domes. The memorial complex “Abai – Shakarim” is a unique object, both in terms of architectural design and its technical solution and execution.

Then they visited a natural monument, the cave “Konyr – aulie” with healing properties. The cave is considered a holy place because it has a miraculous effect on health. Some of the students plunged into the lake, believing in its special medicinal properties.

Also, on the way to the village of the great poet, they examined the place where the batyr Kushikbai Kanayuly is buried. Many pilgrims come to pray. There is a spring near the batyr’s grave, which does not freeze even in the most severe frosts.

Students learned how our ancestors courageously defended these lands and performed great feats in the name of the Motherland, were glad to visit the sights and sacred places of our region!
