Every year on October 12, the World Arthritis Day is observed where this global health event aims to create awareness about arthritis, rheumatic conditions, and other musculoskeletal diseases. “Arthritis is just a symptom which means you have joint pain and swelling”.
An estimated 25.7 million adults are limited in their usual activities because of arthritis. That number is expected to grow to 35 million by 2040. And early diagnosis is a key to success of everything.
Through activities around the world, organizations and patient advocates will promote awareness of the symptoms connected to arthritis and highlight the importance of early diagnosis to gain access to the proper medical treatment as soon as possible.
The following are the priorities for patients with rheumatoid arthritis: Manage pain and discomfort through appropriate pain management interventions and strategies. Promote joint mobility and prevent deformities through range-of-motion exercises, joint protection techniques, and assistive devices.
Students of group 431 as part of the training of the discipline “Rheumatology” (Teacher – Acting Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Goremykina M.V.) met with the Honored Professor of «Semey Medical University», NCJSC, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ivanova R.L., and also had the opportunity to discuss modern principles of treatment of Arthritis, including local injection methods of therapy in rheumatology, present in intra-articular manipulations on the basis of the cardio-rheumatology department of the University Hospital of «Semey Medical University», NCJSC .
