From year to year and from generation to generation, values, trends, traditions, mentality and even banal habits replace each other at a breakneck pace. This dynamic did not bypass family values. This process is sometimes too turbulent. Families formed in 2010-2015-2020 are completely different from each other in their ideals. For better or for worse, it is no longer possible to know.
How are families formed in general? What moral criteria are inherent in an exemplary family? What is the difference between families created by young people and those created by older ones? Is there an ideal age to start a family? 3rd year students of the Faculty of Dentistry together with curators – Zhakipova A.A., Apbasova S.A. – tried to answer these and many other questions during a curatorial hour on October 13, 2023. – and residents – Erkinov A.R., Shomshekbaev Zh.T., Berdali M.B., Asubaev O.B., Arnakyzy E., Medesh T.
Initially, students talked about the family in general and what moral ideals families from the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s pursue, comparing the internal climate of each of them. Next, the discussion turned to the pros and cons of starting a family at a young age. It is obviously impossible to reach a common opinion on such a question, but a simple exchange of views brought greater clarity to the problems and advantages of young families. Along with the discussion, students conducted a social survey of residents of the city of Semey on the topic “Is it worth starting a family at 18-20 years old?” The survey showed that even among the adult generation there is no consensus.
To summarize, we can say that there is not and cannot be an ideal age for such a great responsibility as “Family”; it all depends on the personal life experience and preparedness of each person. It is worth putting a person’s feelings, upbringing, desires and morality on a par with material forces, and with a balance of these two factors, there is a great chance of creating a truly exemplary family.Unfortunately, the Republic of Kazakhstan occupies a leading position in the world in terms of divorce among young families, but this dynamic can be completely corrected if people are taught morality and responsibility from an early age.
For its part, the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine named after. Prof. Yu.V. Pruglo sincerely thanks the participating students for such an interesting and educational topic during the curator’s hour.
