On October 18, 2023, a curatorial hour on the topic “gender equality” was held at the Department of General Practitioner of the city of Semey under the leadership of the head of the department, A. A. Dusupova.
Gender equality is the equal legal status of women and men and equal opportunities for its realization, allowing people, regardless of gender, to freely use their abilities to participate in political, economic, social and cultural spheres of life.
According to the report on the global gender gap in 2023, this year Kazakhstan ranked 62nd in the ranking with an index of 72.1% (out of 146 countries). Compared to 2022 (71.9%), the country’s index increased by 0.28%.
In 2021, the President of Kazakhstan signed a law on amendments to the Labor Code regarding women’s labor. Currently, there are no restrictions on the employment of Kazakhstani women, however, standards are applied for moving weights manually (load no more than 10 kilograms).[/vc_column_text]
