October 18, 2023, teacher of the department of general education disciplines Tokabaeva G.K. with group 1226 of the specialty “General Medicine” visited the Regional Museum of History and Local Lore of the city of Semey.

One of the oldest and largest museums in Kazakhstan, the Regional Museum of History and Local Lore in Semey, was created in 1883 on the initiative of political exiles.

During the years of revolution and civil confrontation, the building was called the House of Freedom. Here in 1917, at a meeting with city residents, the leader of the Alash movement, Alikhan Bokeikhanov, gave a keynote speech.

The collection carefully preserves files of periodicals from the late 19th – early 20th centuries. Today the museum’s collection includes more than 105 thousand items. The exhibition hall regularly displays exhibitions on various topics. Students got acquainted with the materials and exhibits of the local history museum with great interest. Students learned a lot about the city and its history.
