On the eve of the Republic Day, teachers of the Department of Public Health (associate professor Tokesheva Sh.M., teacher Beisengazina M.B.) together with students of the specialty “Public Health” (301, 302, 401 and 201 groups) held a curatorial hour dedicated to this significant event.

A student of 301 group Sailaugalieva Farida presented a presentation about the history of the holiday, which began in 1990 with the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty; the provisions of the fundamental state document were presented, the political and legal foundations of Kazakhstan as a sovereign state were outlined.

During the curatorial hour, issues related to the activities of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan – the purpose, objectives and structure of “a unique institution created to maintain unity and harmony in our country” were touched upon. During the thematic quiz, students demonstrated knowledge of historical and significant dates of our country, state symbols and their authors.

The students unanimously supported the words of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev: “Republic Day is the main holiday of our country. This is the day of the revival of our centuries-old statehood…”.
