From November 3 to 5, the annual Republican Olympiad MedUSE was held in the city of Turkestan, within the walls of the Ahmet Yesevi University.

The local committee of the Semey Medical University, taking an active part, took the third prize.

Results of the Olympiad:

1st place – Kazakh-Russian Medical University;

2nd place – West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University;

2nd place – Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University;

3rd place – Semey Medical University.

Delegates from our university took part in the Olympiad for the second time.

For 3 years, NJSC “SMU” was the organizer of this republican Olympiad.

MedUSE is an annual republican Olympiad in basic medical disciplines and practical skills.

The purpose of the Olympiad is the intellectual and scientific development of students, the creation of a competitive environment for medical students of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the demonstration of the best achievements and the establishment of an exchange of experience between students.

The Olympiad consisted of several stages:

I. Verification of theoretical knowledge by means of tests in various disciplines, including: pathological physiology, pharmacology, pathological anatomy and propaedeutics.

II. Rebus, disease detection, description, pathogenesis, etiology and treatment.

III. Clinical skills in 4 areas.

1) Pediatrics;

2) Surgery;

3) Propaedeutics;

4) Gynecology.

IV. Demonstration of skills on laparoscopic simulators.
