Assistants of the Department of GMP in Ust-Kamenogorsk Akhmetova S.S. and Nigmanova G.E. and interns of group 726 consisting of Asylbekova N, Amreeva T, Nurbaeva L, Tokenova A, Tokenova A, Askarova A, held a lecture for students “The influence of energy drinks on the human body” at the “Higher College of the East Kazakhstan State University named after Sarsen Amanzholov”.
The lecture includes facts on energy drinks, the history of their launch in around the world, describes customer expectations from the product, illustrates a typical portrait of an energy drink consumer, and provides an assessment of the energy drink business. The composition and properties of the components of energy drinks were presented in detail from a medical point of view, the results of the effects on the body of such components as sucrose, caffeine, taurine, glucuronolactone, etc. were analyzed.
Also during the lecture, information about harm and danger to health was presented, and issues of legislative regulation were also discussed. The topic of abuse of electronic cigarettes among young people was also raised. The material is presented in an understandable language about the dangers of using electronic cigarettes, including the fact that smoking electronic cigarettes can cause cancer, lung and heart disease, and a more dangerous complication when the device is used by multiple people, which can lead to hepatitis and tuberculosis infection.
This is the first joint project in 2023 between the Department of GMP and “Higher College of the East Kazakhstan State University named after Sarsen Amanzholov”. Another meeting with students is planned.
