In order to improve the knowledge and increase the competitiveness of young specialists, a meeting of the journal club on Neurology devoted to the problem of cognitive disorders was held on November 24, 2023 at the Department of Neurology, Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology. The meeting was attended by assistant of the department Biniyazova A.A., doctors of the neurological department of the SMU University Hospital Idrisova E.M. and Yerbolova Zh.Zh., resident neurologists of the 1st and 2nd years of study. An article on a clinical case of such a rare disease as frontotemporal dementia was selected for reading and discussion. The participants discussed the types of cognitive disorders and dementias, their etiology, diagnosis and treatment. Using the example of an article describing a clinical case, they got acquainted with the clinical symptoms of frontotemporal dementia, the features of early onset dementia and gave examples from their own experience. The meeting was particularly productive and entertaining, at the end the participants approved the topics for the next meetings.
