In 2023, On November 23, in a seminar on the prevention of viral hepatitis A was held for medical workers of the Auezov emergency medical care substation in the Semey region.
GP interns of group 615 highlighted epidemiological data on viral hepatitis A in the Abay region. The lecturers noted that, unlike children, most adolescents and adults experience typical manifestations of viral hepatitis, including loss of appetite, malaise, fever, nausea and vomiting, and jaundice occurs in more than 70% of cases. Manifestations of the disease usually disappear after 2 months, but in some patients symptoms may be present for up to 6 months, when long-term cholestasis (cholestatic hepatitis) due to hepatitis A may develop, and cholestatic hepatitis is characterized by severe jaundice with itching, prolonged fever, weight loss, diarrhea and malaise. The speakers placed special emphasis on the prevention and vaccination of viral hepatitis A.
