Training of resident infectious diseases specialists at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology

The training of resident infectious diseases specialists is carried out at clinical bases in hospitals and polyclinics. Semey, Pavlodar, Ust – Kamenogorsk. Residents master the material according to the curriculum, using the materials set out in the protocols of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Residents of related specialties and disciplines (GP, emergency medicine, dermatovenerology) also take courses on infectious diseases at the department. Residents study theoretically and practically with Honored Professor of Semey State Medical University L.A.Mukovozova, head of the department, Professor N.K.Shaimardanov, associate professors G.I.Nuralinova and E.M.Smail. They participate in rounds, examinations of patients, and are on duty weekly in the infectious diseases department under the supervision of clinical mentors.

In addition to medical work, much attention is paid to the formation of scientific research skills. Research work is planned according to the individual curriculum of the resident. They take part in the work of the winter school of infectious diseases every year. They report their results at conferences of various levels. The quality of acquired knowledge on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases is regularly monitored during formative and summative assessment.
