Integrated symposium “Differential diagnosis of diseases with exanthema”

In the practice of a doctor, patients with an atypical clinical picture are often found, which makes timely diagnosis and, as a result, proper therapy difficult. Thus, hemorrhagic exanthema often develops in infectious and non-communicable diseases and requires joint management of such patients by doctors of different specialties.

On December 20, an integrated symposium on the topic “Differential diagnosis of diseases with exanthema” was held. The symposium was attended by teachers of the Department of Internal Diseases and Rheumatology: head of the Department, Associate Professor Kaskabaeva A.Sh., Professor Zhumadilova Z.K., associate professors Kapanova G.K., Muzdubaeva Zh.E., assistants Rymbaeva T.H., Botabaeva A.S., Kozhakhmetova D.K., Petrova Yu.V., Shakhanov A.T. and teachers of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dermatovenerology and Immunology associate professors Nuralinova G.I., Maukaeva S.B., Tokaeva A.Z. Residents of the specialty “Gastroenterology”, “Nephrology”, “Rheumatology”, 5th year bachelors of General Medicine also participated in the symposium. A fatal case of a patient who was being treated in an infectious diseases hospital with a diagnosis of “Scarlet fever, severe course” was reported. After hearing the medical history, there was a discussion about the differential diagnosis of the disease of this patient. As a result of the discussion, the doctors came to the conclusion that the patient could have a generalized streptococcal infection with the development of septic shock. The diagnosis of hemorrhagic vasculitis is questionable, since it develops more slowly, kidney failure comes to the fore from complications, and the rash is also of a different nature. Conclusion of the symposium recently, streptococcal infection has become more aggressive and cases with the development of urgent conditions have become more frequent.
