International Anti-Corruption Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly and is celebrated annually on December 9. Corruption as a social phenomenon continues to exist today in almost all countries of the world, regardless of political development, including in Kazakhstan. It slows down the economic development of society and undermines state foundations. Therefore, on this day, demonstrations, meetings, conferences, seminars and other events dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day are held in many countries around the world. For Kazakhstan, overcoming corruption is one of the main directions of state policy, the priority of which is clearly indicated by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
December 20, 2023 at the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named after Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tapbergenov S.O. students of group 208 of the specialty “Dentistry” held a curatorial hour on the topic: “Youth against corruption.” The purpose of the curatorial hour: to develop an anti-corruption worldview among students, to cultivate a positive attitude towards moral standards, and to increase the level of their legal consciousness. During the curatorial hour, a presentation containing materials on corruption was presented, questions were raised on improving anti-corruption measures, establishing anti-corruption discipline among students, and education in the spirit of countering corruption.
Effective implementation of anti-corruption measures is impossible without the active participation of society and the mass anti-corruption movement. Responsibility for successfully combating corruption lies not only with the state, but also with society, each individual citizen. I would like to believe that the knowledge acquired by students will help them in life not to come into contact with any manifestations of corruption.
