On December 15-16, 2023, the already traditional IV International Olympiad for Medical University Students “Samarkand-2020” was held at Samarkand State Medical University (Republic of Uzbekistan). Over 20 medical universities and scientific and practical centers from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Belarus, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and others took part in the Olympiad.

The competition in subject areas was held in 2 stages: at the first stage, participants had to pass testing on theoretical knowledge, at the second stage to prove themselves in solving various situational and practical problems. The work of the Olympiad was presented by general medical and dental sections, held in person and online on the Zoom platform. According to the results of the “Microbiology” section of the IV International Subject Olympiad “Samarkand-2020”, 3rd year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy Abzhatova Erkezhan took third place. 3rd year students of the Faculty of General Medicine Annaberdiev Nurkhan and Myrzabekova Aiyn took part in the same sections online and received a certificate “For participation in the Olympiad”.
