On December 22, 2023, at the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after D.M.Tusupova, a round table was held dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 30th anniversary of its ratification of the Republic of Kazakhstan among patients of the pediatric department of the University Hospital Non-profit Joint Stock Company Semey Medical University. The organizers are interns of the General Practitioner of group 717, under the guidance of assistant of the Department of Pediatrics Kapanova A.A.
The purpose of this event was: to form a general idea of human rights as the main universal value, to familiarize with the main provisions of the Declaration on Human Rights, the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the development of a sense of human dignity, education of tolerance, mutual understanding and equality.
On November 20, 1989, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It forms a complex of civil, economic, social and cultural rights in the context of preserving the human dignity of the child. The Convention defines a child as “a person from the moment of birth to the age of 18.” The 54 articles of the Convention set out the rights of children. This is the right to protection from arbitrariness, non-interference in family life, and freedom of expression. The Convention guarantees children equality, regardless of origin, race, nationality, status, occupation, views and beliefs of their parents, guarantees freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, the right to participate in associations and peaceful assemblies.
The interns introduced our listeners to a presentation on the Convention on the Rights of the child. Next, we played the game “Collect a flower ” Every child has the right.”
