On December 14, 2023, the center for Habilitation and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in the Abai region held training hours on the basic provisions of the international classification of functioning, disability and health (ICF).
The event was attended by specialists from Astana, in particular, the deputy head of the NGO “AST-Astana Social Technologies”, a member of the NPM in Astana, a sign language specialist Mavlanova Dinara Kurmanovna and a rehabilitologist of the highest category, assistant mentor of the Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation of the MUA, head of the rehabilitation department of IVP Clinic in Astana Khasenova Aigul Khairullayevna. The reason for the visit of the guests was the holding of training sessions and the exchange of experience. Under the guidance of the head of the Department of Pediatrics and Medical Rehabilitation named after D.M.Tusupova, CMS Alimbayeva A.R. assistants of the department Dauletzharova Zh.K., Nazarbekova M. S., resident rehabilitologists, as well as specialists of the center in the field of healthcare and pedagogy took part to replenish their knowledge. During the training, the ICF was explained in detail in the form of a presentation. It describes the differences and advantages of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health in comparison with the International Classification of diseases (ICD). The advantages of using ICF and ICD in combination with each other have been demonstrated. After completing the theoretical part, Aigul Khairullayevna examined the service recipients of the center and gave her recommendations. At the end of the training, an exchange of views took place among the gathered specialists and answers were given to the questions that arose. This event helped the residents of the department to replenish their knowledge about the advantages of the ICF, about its importance in practice.
