This is one of the most dangerous diseases of humanity, from which many people die every year. The disease is insidious and changeable, it has the ability to evolve and over the years increasingly affects young people and children. Over the years of research, scientists have made great progress in finding an effective treatment, but work is still ongoing. A cancerous tumor may not make itself felt for a long time and develop in the body asymptomatically. Therefore, it is very important to know how to prevent this disease. On the topic of scientific research devoted to one of the current problems of medicine, a member of the circle of the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines presented statistics on the prevalence of cancer in Kazakhstan, the causes, risk factors and measures to prevent these diseases, the latest achievements of the Ministry of Science in the development of an anti-cancer drug. The presentation of the lecture material aroused interest among schoolchildren, Kaliev Sernad answered questions from the audience, conducted career guidance on choosing a medical profession, inviting schoolchildren to enter our university, at the end of the lecture they received a prepared memo “What you need to know about cancer.”
