A visit to “Mom’s House”

Within the framework of volunteer work teachers of the department of epidemiology and biostatistics Kanat Didara and Assel Tukinova together with students of group 4217 of specialty “General medicine” visited ” Mom’s House ” on February 1, 2024. They helped pregnant women to get information about proper preparation for childbirth and breastfeeding. On this day, the volunteers brought with them not only their knowledge and experience, but also a lot of kindness and enthusiasm

The teachers and students provided women with practical advice and demonstrated techniques that can help manage pain during labor. The lecture began with a general overview of the pregnancy and childbirth process. Students and teachers told about the physical and emotional changes that occur in a woman’s body during pregnancy, as well as how to properly prepare for labor. They shared with the moms-to-be tips on healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition and physical activity that can help them maintain good health and prepare for childbirth. Special attention was paid to breastfeeding. Volunteers shared information about the benefits of breast milk for the baby and its role in the baby’s development. They told about the correct breastfeeding technique, the postures that help to establish the right contact between mom and baby, as well as the benefits of breastfeeding for both the baby and mom. After the lecture, the volunteers answered questions from expectant moms. It was noticeable that this meeting brought a lot of benefits and inspired expectant mothers to a more informed and healthy approach to childbirth and breastfeeding.

The visit to the “Mom’s House” and the lecture proved to be useful and meaningful for the women living there.
